I've heard bad things about Megashark vs. Giant Octopus - I'm reliably informed that they're not on screen that much and there is far too much talking in darkened rooms. Might give Mega Piranha a go though.Next up in the Little House domestic cinema is Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl, which sounds very promising indeed.
saw this in the paper... looks brilliant/awful in exactly equal measures... fine line with these babies though... same as giant snake movies, which used to be my favourite....
Yeah, I've been wanting to check Vampire Girl vs. Frankenstein Girl too - but I've only got a portable telly right now, which kinda kills films dead when you've got Old Man's Eyesight like me....tho I did get a copy of "Prisoner 701 Sasori" up the garage for a quid (sorry, old joke - couldn't resist it...), ready for a rainy TV day - it looks scarily like something I pitched to 2000AD about 5 years ago."looks brilliant/awful in exactly equal measures" - well, I think The Asylum stuff is as much deliberately the way it is, as it is financially constrained: I think they're elbowing their way into some new-ish post-Troma Ironic-Spectacle PoMo-Cinema space. Making a sellable virtue out of bad CGI, 80's Mall.Popsters Vs. Big Animals, etc. I love Big Snake Films too. But don't tell my therapist.
Magashark Vs Giant Octopus is fucking brill. And it's got Uber-Dude Lorenzo Lamas in it (The Renegade!). Yes, there are very few shots of the shark/octopus in it, but it fucking rocks. And now Tiffany! It just can't get any better, apart from possibly Pirahna 3D starring Elisabeth Shue (America's 13th Greatest Living Actress) and Richard Dreyfus.
The Renegade was fucking fantastic!Rumour is that they're working on Mega Piranha Vs Megashark Vs Giant Octopus starring Debbie Gibson and Tiffany. That's so brilliantly and blatantly ridiculous that it could just as equally be a joke or a genuine project.
I just came in my fucking pants.
