*cue: heavily-reverb'd film-trailer voice-over, er, voice* "What lurks within The Rocky IV Box?"

My latest 'musical' instrument. Yes, I really have added a jack-socket to a VHS video-box. Clue: it makes conceptually-linked boxing/wresting noises. I'll be test-running it tonight.

does it make the sound of sylvester stallone meeting bridgitte neilson and his career leaving his body?

Does it make a Dolph Lundgren sound? Or is that the wrong Rocky box?

Actually, what I did was take the circuit-board out of an old late 80's WFW toy and wire it into the Rocky IV box, so that it plays 1980's-themed wrestling samples (instead of boxing) from the old memory-chip - like the time-out bell ringing, Referee and Crowd shouts, etc. I'm trying to slow down the samples, but I can't find the right potentiometer yet. Still, not bad for a first effort.

When I get the time I'll try'n expand it and add sound-chips from other toys. Maybe I'll take a pile of different themed VHS-boxes to shows with me.
