There's a cool review here (on the Serendipity Magic Realism site) of the "Cone Zero" antho that features one of my stories.
It concludes: "Well, I'm usually wary of saying things like this, but I expect to see Cone Zero on the lists of this year's best anthologies. It will richly deserve any such place." Well, it is bloody good.

The previous issue/volume of Nemonynous - "Zencore!" - has just been nominated under the Best Anthology 2007 category by the British Fantasy Society. The final five nominees were:
Charles Black, THE BLACK BOOK OF HORROR, Mortbury Press
John Grant, NEW WRITINGS IN THE FANTASTIC, Pendragon
Stephen Jones, THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF BEST NEW HORROR 18, Robinson
D. F. Lewis, ZENCORE!, Meganthus
Ian Alexander Martin, THE FIRST HUMDRUMMING BOOK OF HORROR STORIES, Humdrumming
"Zencore!", if you remember, contained my story "Blue Raspberries", which was itself a nominee for Best Short Story 2007 by the British Science Fiction Society...
I had this weird vision a few days ago of The British Science Fiction Society and The British Fantasy Society leaving different pubs at chucking-out time and having a massive ruck up the kebab house after someone makes an offhand comment about Greg Bear or something...splashes of ruby-coloured light from death-ray pistols, glinting axe-blades and Rorshach-like blood-splatter patterns on white B&Q tiles. Women scream; someone vomits up their chips and a wriggling endo-parasite scuttles under a two-day old copy of the Daily Express... outside, a bored-looking Turkish taxi-driver puts his head in his hands: "Ahh, fuck...the BSFS and BFS are at it again. Had to get the blinkin' car valeted last time..."
