KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM OF THE PARK
Just an ordinary bunch of New Jersey Boys...
Julian Cope likes 'em, but I'm not much of a fan, to be honest (not 'Eavy enough! - and I prefer Hello's version of "New York Groove") - tho' I do love the film. And I do have a soft spot for when they went Disco.
Actually, I found a 2nd-hand copy of Gene Simmons' autobiography in a junk shop a few months ago, but ended up reading the whole thing in about 15 minutes while stood up in the shop.
For those of you who are curious (spoiler alert!) the whole thing can be reduced down to the following: "I'm great, me!"
((Actually, since you've all been so well-behaved recently, here's an alternative mix of that last sentence:
For those of you who are curious (spoiler alert!) the whole thing can be reduced down to the following: "I'm ace, me! No, wait - he's Ace, I'm Gene. Er, hang on...I'm not Gene, I'm The Demon. And Ace isn't ace at all - I'm ace!"))
In fairness to Simmons, it's not all self-aggrandisation - there are also a couple bits detailing how much of a wanker he thinks Peter is, and a list of assorted rich and famous women he's shagged, along with the approximate numbers of non-rich-or-famous women he's shagged.
Actually, in retrospect, it's quite a good book (but not an Ace one). I wish I'd bought it now, except I've already read it.
