THE FARMER COMES TO TOWN

And the best of luck to m'man Farmer Glitch for his show at The Arnofini, Bristol, tomorrow night.....

FALL AND RISE OF AMBIENT PART THREE

The third and final part of my History of Ambient article is up on the FACT website even as we speak, incl. a new interview with the ever-excellent Caretaker, who I thank from the bottom of my heart for giving me his time. Much appeciated, man.

So, here they are, in sequence:

Part One.

Part Two.

Part Three.

Many thanks to Simon, my editor, for his help and patience, and his trust, in running this.

(Yeah, I know, I didn't cover Illbient, Black Ambient, blahblahblah...but at some appropriate point in the future I'm thinking of combining, expanding and revising this, and adding more interviews, etc. It feels like it's the basis of a big essay or a book chapter maybe, who knows...)

Meanwhile, The Caretaker's new "Persistant Repetition of Phrases" double-CD is due to drop any day now. This contains some tracks from his excellent "Deleted Scenes/Forgotten Dreams" double-vinyl, plus a CD of new material. I'm excited and you should be too!

And if you don't have his 6xCD box-set - then shame on you!

His work comes with the highest possible recommendation. So get on over to his site and score some stuff pronto.
