NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS

A review (and crappy pics!) by me of December's Thurston Moore-curated ATP bash at Minehead, over here on the FACT website. Not sure, but I think this may be appearing in the next paper edition...

Some time or other, I'll try'n write up in detail some more of the kool stuff I saw...it really was an excellent fest. and a complete honour to hang out w/ mi Yeovil dawgs ("Negative fuckin' Attitoooood!"), who really know how to take it to the limit.

(Flinty, as we know and love him: in the Crash Position...)

Also great to say hello again to the likes of Sunburned Hand's John Maloney and Ron Schneiderman (who also runs Spirit of Orr) and Matt Valentine of MV/EE infamy...and to finally meet in the flesh folk like Wooden Wand, Sami from Fonal Records, Carlos from the Audiobot label (who also plays in Frozen Corpse), Maurizio and Roberto Opalio aka My Cat is an Alien...I think I spotted Dennis Tyfus skulking around the Belgian stall, but I got waylaid and he was gone (if, indeed, it was him) by the time I finally got there...

Im total, I checked out something like 21 bands over three evenings (not bad for an old fart)...but I have to say that The Stooges were fucking phenomenal. I saw Iggy (minus the Ashtons) a coupla times in the late seventies and he was great, but this was *whoooo* ten times better...
