LORD DEPTH MIXED BY THE COWARD MIXED BY FARMER GLITCH MIXED BY CyRUS DA VyRUS MIXED BY GUTTERBREAKZ

Thanks to Nick Gutta for sending me the latest installment in our on-going blogological musical chain-letter...

Nick says it was unfinished, but I like it as it is...Semi-Minimal, wh/ neatly dovetails into Nick's current musical passion(s)...

Gutta's version should be downloadable from here:

The Lord Depth/Lord Coward project has not been abandoned; it's still on-going...but I've been busy with other stuff, so haven't been cheerleading this recently...the plan, if you remember, was to assemble enuff mixes to create a compilation wh/ I was going to burn to CD and send out to some of my regular readahs along w/ some thematically-linked packaging peripherals, etc.

So, who's up for doing the next step in the chain...roll up! roll up! Come and get it!

Eli, if you're reading this, are you still up for doing a mix? Or Tom Backström...did you fancy a crack at an 'Ardkore retwist...?

I would especially encourage anyone reading this who's not a musician to have a crack at it! Any genre or take is acceptable...just because the last few mixes have been electronic/computer-based, don't be afraid of trying to reproduce it on your broken accoustic gtr. The original mix is available on my music-player link if you want to reference it or reinstate any original elements, but some of the links to previous mixes have since disappeared (tho I've got copies), which is kinda cool, 'cos maybe Nick's version becomes the new ground zero...

Anyway, I'm hoping some of yeh have a go at this for a laugh - would be cool to take this round the globe and back - and, like I said, don't be frightened to go berzerk and throw away the rule-book. In fact, I'd encourage ya to sound like nuffink that ever came before...

hate to be a pedantic muthafucka, but i should point out that my version used the farmer's as the creative starting point - Cyrus' version came along after I did mine, so there's no elements of his in there. so where does that leave us? well basically, from the farmer's mix, the genetic code splits in two, with mine and cyrus' versions both using the same raw materials but with no knowledge of each other's. those who follow us have the choice to draw elements from either, or both, or indeed neither. but who cares anyway? rules are for gayers.

ps. 'semi-minimal'?! i'd say it was 'minimal as fuck'. i mean, how much more minimal do you want? there's practically nothing there ferchissakes!

LOL!

I like the idea of there now being two evolutionary paths to this tune - I think Eli was using Cyrus' version as a kick-off point...

"how much more minimal do you want? there's practically nothing there ferchissakes!" ...actually, Nick, I thought it was quite cluttered LOL!

cluttered?! cluttered in comparison to, say, La Monte Young perhaps.

i almost linked this post over at my blog, but then i thought i didn't wanna potentially taint the project with my 'audience'(bloody dance music fans)...better to just stick to the melting pot of disenfranchised freaks, pagens and mescaline headz who lurk in tha 'shirt.

Cluttered compared with Aube....

"the melting pot of disenfranchised freaks, pagens and mescaline headz" - crikey, you've just described my family

It's like when Laing's stuff came out: everyone said 'Hey... that's MY family'...

Anyway, why doesn't the link work?

Nick, I had to split the link into two seperate lines on the post because the URL was too long and was screwing w/ my blog's page format...

I'll put a note in to that effect for you non-IT ninnys...

...or maybe I'll just (duh!) rewrite the link.

Cheers Nick - I tried to sew that line together Kek but it weren't 'avin' it...

Probably a space or a return character in there somewhere...have fixed it now though.

A mix by you and Doppelkid would be pretty cool: Space Family Doppler
