FOXY DIGITALIS CATCH-UP

Great to hear from Brad Rose the other week...I'm totally in awe of Brad's Digitalis Industries set up...it's a label; it's a publishing house; it's an on-line magazine...nah, it's all that n more: it's a a major cog, or a hub, if you like, where people, music and info collide and mesh and keep the wheels of the underground turning and rolling forward into strange new territories...

Anyways, we were talking about this n that...but mainly the Bottling Smoke Festival that Brad and his fiendish cohorts having been organising: it's a 3-day fest. in Los Angeles from May 25-27th (that's next weekend) and it's got a totally killer line-up. Check the link for more info. Props to Brad and his crew for making this happen. Then talk turned to Turner Cody...

Brad says: "...But yeah, Turner Cody! Should be out in july, I think. It's his "Buds of May" album, remastered. I think Wooden Wand covered one of the songs off of it "Cry With Me". (He did! - it's on a free 7" that came with the vinyl of his excellent "Harem of the Sundrum & the Witness Figg" LP - Kek)... it's kind of ridiculously good. It'll be housed in fancy-schmancy arigato packs from Stumptown Printers...

"I'm beyond excited. It's gonna rule! It's part of our new Arts & Crafts Editions, which are basically CD releases in fancy-ish packaging. Kind of differentiates them a bit from the regular Digitalis releases...

"We're also putting out the new Wolfmangler CD, and a double CD reissue from Ilyas Ahmed, and a Xela CD. Should be a good start to the new thing, anyway... and there's tons of other junk happening, CD reissue from Warmth (formerly Roxanne Jean Polise) about to drop in a week or two... and a 2CD split on the horizon from Robedoor and Pocahaunted. Can't wait to do that one.

"Pocahaunted are great... I just found out they had a Fuck It Tapes release that's already sold-out. Grrr... I hate it when that happens. Seems like it should be right up your alley, though..."

Thanks to Brad for a heads-up preview-listen of the Turner album: it totally fucking rules and I recommend you form an orderly queue and score yrselves a copy of this when it emerges red and glistening, fresh from the Digitalis womb. I know I will.
