FLATLAND

While I was away I picked up a copy of Edwin Abbott's Victorian Fantasy-Satire "Flatland":



"Dover Thrift Editions": LOL! Love the fact that his middle-name was also Abbott...

And, no, I wasn't in Norfolk.

love flatland... came to it via Rudy Rucker's shenanigans... it's the only way to understand the 4th and 5th dimensions... I'm still waiting for Doctor Who to have a go at this kind of thing...

Yeah, yr right, it's soooo English...it kinda slots into the whole Who thing...I know Alan Moore's 'stolen' from this, tho' struggling to think who else...there's a floppy raft of this Victorian/Edwardian stuff (beyond the usual suspects like Lewis Carroll) that I'm surprised hasn't surfaced in late 20th/early 21st century fiction/TV/media...
