Separated at birth:

Over-rated/past-it comic-book writer and weekend magician Alan Moore...

...and the undisputed King of 1970s Glam-Jive Mr. Roy Wood:

It was a sad day when they chucked Alan Moore out of The Move.
Didn't they know he knew the score?

He didn't last long in ELO either...wonder why that was? Too many mushrooms, perhaps.

Did you ever read Bev Bevan's run on "Promethea"?

...so is he good, ...or not??
(i'm a scandi, we don't get ultra-sophisticated british ironies)

I'm guessing that Roy Wood (and Wizzard) were never that big in Norway...

A 'scandi' - I like that?
So what's it mean to be a scandi?

BTW - some of us do realise that the rest of the world is merely humouring us with our delusional 'Brits are the only ones that do irony' thing....

i'm never sure exactly what they mean by irony... i think i'm deluded about that more than anything...

btw...bit unfair on Alan Moore, I reckon... i'll always love Watchmen and V For Vendetta and I just got the Collected Future Shocks for Xmas - yeah, okay Promethea is pretty poor (except for the babetastic art) and Tom Strong's weak but the LOEG was pretty good (thanks for the lend Doppelganger) I thought...

(that novel he did was maybe a step too far though...sort of a Riddley Walker with the effortlessness extracted..)

and I thought he was pretty cool when he did 'Fire' with that exploding helmet...

i'll gladly take the lot of it, in exchange for a bunch of record rarities, loads of obscure CD-R burns and a lifetime membership in the ED tape exchange/free music club...ah c'mon, ok then perhaps some quid and postage expenses paid...at least to see what all the fuss is (or isn't about)
sad BTW, LOEG is one of the releses of his i've been able to come across in shops, and i kind of liked it...so would be happy to take that off your hands too ;)

Loki- it's true, we don't do irony, only brits do that properly!
i mean, you could drag the most ridiculous tall tale up here and most people would just look at you blankly and go, "oh REALLY?"- kind of "give them the benefit of the doubt...until they confess to be joking", wildly confusing and/or socially complicating...!

Doppel- lol, "scandi" was just an attempt to joke about the fact that that's what you brits call us, regardless which country we come from up here you just lump us together in a sack and label us the same kind...i mean there's a vague connection there, but we're as "indentical" as, say, an irishman and a scot (and don't ever call them english, you know?!?)
