Big up Scott Sinclair who performs/records as Company Fuck and describes his toons as a "one-man speedcore metal karaoke noise explosion from Brisbane, Australia", which works for me. If you like Shitmat, DJ Scotch Egg, etc, then go check his mp3s. I was extremely pleased to learn that he also records as DJ Monkeycunt.

Scott and I made contact completely by accident (like you do) a few weeks ago...he's over in the UK for a few months and is about to hit the road for a few dates, so you thrill-starved groovers can catch him here:

Sat 19 August

Summer Cheapcore Special with Alex B, Armaged:don, Gunter Saxenhammer, UEP and more.

Wed 30 August

Chaos vs Cosmos @ The Macbeth with Hunting Lodge, Orion Arm and more.

Sat 2 September
Noise Annoys Noisefest
with Hunting Lodge, Trencher, Scorpio Scorpio, and more.

Hopefully, some of you Bristol boys'll check this (tho' got a horrible feeling I'm stuck in on child-rearing duties):

Looks like that one's at Seymores Family Club (yay!) where I'm hopefully off to see Sunburned Hand of The Man tomorrow.

I think John Olsen of Wolf Eyes was raving about Hunting Lodge to me a while back, or did I imagine it. They're over here.

Scott says: "...hope we can sing to Whitney Houston while dancing to Napalm Death at a very inappropriate time very soon. I'll be in the UK for a few more months yet, and I'll play any show as long as I don't have to part with my laptop on the transport vehicle...!"

Scott is part of the Brisbane-based Half/Theory tape/CDr/DVD label. He explains: "Nowadays, it's very much a collective with up to 20 weird musicians from Australia and New Zealand updating the site. Of course, some are more regular contributors like myself and the Brisbane based contingent - Joe Musgrove, Lloyd Barrett, Joel Stern. Brisbane is where we started, but there is underground stuff representing Sydney, Melbourne, New Zealand and all sorts of in-betweens..."

I asked him if he knew Michael Donnelly of Brothers of the Occult Sisterhood and MYMWLY infamy, and he said: "Brisbane is the closest big city to the MYMWLY guys, so they play there quite a lot now..."

There's allsortsa inneresting tapes and stuff available from their site and there's a bunch of mp3s so you can have an audio-browse before you score some nicely fucked-up shit from these regular viewers are aware, my personal tastes are currently knee-deep in psych-noise and addled tribal murk-rock, so I was kinda taken by the distorted No-Fi Post-Dirge of Your Intestines, which sounds like a field-recording of a migraine...

I also really liked "SBA" by Muura (which features Matt Earle of Your Intestines): again, it's murky and hypnotically repetitive; I think it's mainly percussion and cheapo electronics, but it sounds like a bunch of mud-smeared retards hitting a giant spring as part of some sort of ritualistic Post-Consumerist forest-orgy "recorded in The Blue Mountains of New South Wales"...

Also been checking a groovy clip from the Botborg DVD, which the site describes as "researches into the 'occult' science of Photosonicneurokineasthography (psnky). Literally, psnky means "writing the movement of nerves through use of sound and light" and was first developed by Dr Arkady Botborger (1923-1981) in the mid 1960s. Due to the limitations of the technology at the time, Botborger's equipment - the Photosonicneurokinaesthetograph (pnkg) - was massive and importable, thus making psnky impossible to demonstrate in public and keeping knowledge of psnky all but hidden until this time - a situation BOTBORG intend to remedy..." Botborg (aka Scott and Joe - sssssh: don't tell anyone!) 'played' at the Trans-Accoustic Festival in Auckland, NZ, that featured a bunch of audio-visual artists blowing holes in people's eyeballs. There's a live review here.

That noisefest sounds fantastic. Funnily enough...just done a post on freenoise stuff. I hope you can get to it. I'd love to hear what it was like if you go. Make sure you do a write up if you do go.
