GO, HOFF, GO!

...er, apparently, David Hasselhoff has recorded a version of "Justified and Ancient" by the KLF.

I'm hoping, no praying, that this is just the beginning of an 80's Soft Rock Acts tackle Rave Classics bandwagon. I mean, who wouldn't want to hear Bryan Adams attempt a revamp of "The Bee" by The Scientist.

i'll send you a badge of our 9th grade "we hate hasselhoff and he must die"-club badge...

but then again the possibility for camp/amusing videos out of this must be endless...
i expect him still to sport his impressive mullet?

better still, would be Arnie the governator covering "the Message"...i think i'd watch that...

Like him or not, Hasselhoff was instrumental in bringing down the Berlin Wall (literally).

Oh yeah, a veritable modern-day Jericho, The Hoff...

What was the record of his they played back then? "Waiting for Freedom"? "Looking for Freedom"? "Shagging for freedom"?

Still, shame on you, X, I can't believe you called the star of "Nick Fury, Agent of SHIELD", "Baywatch Nights" and "Knightrider" camp...I...I...(splutter) w-what can you possibly mean...?

-well, us young'uns couldn't possibly have those references...when the wall came down, i was in the backyard playing with transformers and he-man figures...(although vaguel remember excited adults and happy TV pictures of celebrating berliners and them going: "this is a historical moment"...

anyway. with the 'hoff and us it was more of a love-hate relationship, i reckon...
the bloke who did those badges for us was a closet-glam/glitz fan, had a life-sized poster of wham! on the wall even into puberty, and used to watch 'days of our lives', 'rex, the austrian detective-dog' and 'miami vice' almost religiously....
apart from being 1/3 of our cheesy D.I.Y.house-disco cut-up band which used to be kicked out from squat parties because we sounded "too commercial" and they wanted their stalwart anarcho-punk soundtrack left alone...
he actually printed out some pics of hasselhoff from the internet and played around with them, giving him pammie's head and obi-wan's feet...
hmm...

He-man and the Transformers helped Hoff bring down the Berlin wall. You didn't miss much; it kinda went krrruuuumpphtt and a big cloud of dust went up...I think they should build another one...around London, perhaps.

I def. reckon you should post the badge on yr blog if you've still got any left...

"our cheesy D.I.Y.house-disco cut-up band"...hey, don't tease us like this! We need to know more...

-they actually kicked me out, then rather rudely went on to (moderate) commercial success 6&1/2 months later, with buddy-buddy curated airplay, a 12"-pressing and DJ'ing nights...so there's bad blood between us now...

i'm silencing them out of existence from my pop-cultural continuum...

Aw, damn...sorry to hear that.

Y'know, if it was me I'd use my blog to be really petty, childish, bitter and snide about them...but, then, I'm incredibly immature like that. Still, works for me...
