...AND THE 'LUCKY' WINNAH IS...

Winner of the Bela Lugosi "Invisible Ghost" DVD (purchased up the Garage) is John Effay!

No one guessed the exact correct answer, but John used the magic phrase "and I'm guessing you wouldn't want to own up to "What's New Pussycat?"..." and (hang my head in shame) "What's New Pussycat?" was indeed the title of the Ursula Andress DVD that I bought last week. See, I said I was an obvious kinda guy...

In my defence, I'd like to point out that, though I'm not a fan of either Peter Sellers or Mz. Andress, I fucking love "Casino Royale" (How many writers? How many directors?) and "What's New Pussycat?" is its anti-matter book-end (Sellers, O'Toole, Woody Allen, Burt Bacharach soundtrack, U. Andress, shambolic drug-bloated 60's opulence, etc, etc). Also, HMV ("Top dog in Yeovil," says the poster at the bus-stop, and who am I to argue: "woof!") were doing a two-for-a-tenner MGM anniversary deal so I also copped a copy of "The Trip" starring Fonda, Hopper, Susan Strasberg (daughter of Method guru Lee) and a boatload of druggy visuals (man). Normally, I don't like to spend more than a quid on a DVD (or even less if I can get two or three on a single disk...) but I must've been feeling flush that day...

Right, soon as I finally connect to the Cinestatic website and get John's postal address, the Bela L. creaker will be winging its way off to The Little House on The Flatlands (which always sounds to me like some sort of weird 2-Dimensional Alterno-verse...)

Hoorah, I'm a winner! Must have been getting some psychic interference from somewhere to mention the right one but pick something else. Thanks very much!

You won't thanks me when you actually see the film, John! :-)

As for the rest of you (adopts sneering voice of a pantomine villain): "Ah, Shadduuuup!" (twiddles moustache, twirls cape and exits stage left...)
