STILL GOT THE 'WIND...

Great post by John Effay on his youthful recollections of Hawkwind and having (gulp!) Arthur Brown as a neighbour. And loads of great Hawkwind/Krautrock connections that I managed to completely miss. I love all that rock ephemera stuff...

Nice one, John.

I saw they were playing Exeter earlier this year and I was really tempted to go, but I was scared I'd be disappointed. I kinda wish I'd bit the bullet now. Big Dave saw them at one of their London all-nighters 3/4years back and told me they were joined on stage by, er, Sam Fox. Wish I'd seen that...

Nearly as good as seeing Steve Hillage jamming with Sham 69 on "If the Kids are United..." (Reading '78)

I was also seriously tempted earlier in the year by Kevin Ayers (Exeter again, I think) and Ian Hunter (Bristol).
