"THEY DO ALL LOOK LIKE JESUS DOWN THERE..."

Our recent field-trip to Weston took us through Loki23 territory...aka North Petherton. And what should we see by the side of the road but a Wicker Man. Sadly, though, it looked kinda non-functional...unfit for torching hopelessly lost tourists or an Area Sales Manager who'd taken a wrong turning in his Mondeo. I was hoping for something a bit more Hill have Eyes, but this was too tasteful...too Arts Council Crafts Grant for my liking. Still, never mind; my daughter liked it.

But the weird thing was that it was right near Junction 23. And that section of Somerset was on, wait for it, page 23 of our road-map. Cue: spooky Ernst Toch soundtrack music: Whooooooeeoooeooeooo....

How very PTV.

the whole of North Petherton is kinda PTV (the post-op kind judging by the state of the non-determinate P. Orridge these days). And the Hills would have eyes is they hadn't interbred into only having one per forehead.

all the more reason for living in the more rural- south petherton ! and wierd shit or what - but me and zoe were only discussing during a v-late gin session last night the merits of the 'arts-council-funded' wicker man .... now has this thing not already been burned down once before ?

That Wicker Man looked incredibly fresh and unburnt to me. Almost salad-like. Wouldn't've lasted a minute in Crewekerne.

It wasn't that great big bugger that they actually did burn down once was it?
It's huge, spindly legs, looks like it's running.
If it is, I'm surprised version two lasted this long.....
Generally, the fields in that area seem full of spooky papier-mache creations from old carnival floats.

Crikey. Who do these people think they are? Bloody hooligans, setting fire to a Wicker Man! Actually, if anyone's got any info on this, I'd be interested to hear...was it in the local papers or anything? Was it local kids or some weird anti-Arts Council conspiracy?

Yeah, I think that's the one, Psychbloke : looks like it's running, or stumbling or something (The Stumbling Man?)...glad I didn't imagine it...

well reports from 'dad-of'farmer'glitch' indicate that the reason that mark-2 man-of-whick - has not burnt to tha ground (again) - is due to a nice lake that they have dug around the thang to protect it from man-burning-types.. drove past it a few times last week on the way up-north (portishead again) - and think a simple flaming-arrow shot oout the passanger window whilst passing at 80 might be a cool game to play next time ...
